Rhonda Raines, Ph.D.

Rhonda Raines is a Postdoctoral Fellow working with the Florida Center for Reading Research and the Regional Education Laboratory (REL) Southeast. She completed her Ph.D. in Reading Education and Language Arts as an R2D2 fellow at Florida State University, the Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia at the University of Florida, and her M.Ed. in Reading Education at the University of Lynchburg. She is also a licensed reading specialist in the state of Virginia and has been trained in the Orton Gillingham method through the Orton-Gillingham Academy. Rhonda’s experience includes working as a reading specialist with students at both the elementary and middle school levels, providing specialized intervention for students with dyslexia, and teaching preservice teachers methods of reading instruction. Rhonda's research focuses on identifying and implementing effective methods of instruction for teachers of reading to aid in ensuring that all students have access to high-quality reading instruction.
